Musical genres

There are so many types of genres in music. How do you choose? We all gravitate to music that speaks to us and makes us feel good.

A style of music can also be chosen because it can fit the mood we are in. For example, when we are feeling blue, we may choose music that has a “blue” tone or lyrics that say exactly how we are feeling. “Rainy Days and Mondays” by the Carpenters is one that always comes to my mind.

Like food, developing a taste for different music genres have to be acquired. Don’t rule any genre out until you have given it a good listen.
