Music in our Schools Month: Part 2

jnstwn_bannerJohnstown, New York ushered in the 30th anniversary of MIOSM (Music in Our Schools Month) on March 4 with the District’s annual PRISM Concert, showcasing our student instrumental and vocal ensembles for family, friends and community members.

On March 5 Johnstown’s music department hosted its second annual “Day of Music” for our chorus and band students in grades 5 – 12, beginning the day with a crowd-pleasing performance by renowned Lexington Center band “Flame.”

Also on tap during the “Day of Music” were small group performances and discussion sessions with a variety of special guest musicians such as bagpiper Graham Thompson, together with student ensemble performances in the Johnstown High School Performing Arts Center.
