I’m jazzed!!! I have been trying out my music_road-map and I am learning a lot. Things that I thought my students knew, they don’t. This little map and to-do list is helping. The students came in and we backed up through the music from their last lesson, and went through the “map”. They looked at the music more thoroughly and played it much better once we answered all the questions and practiced the harder measures first. The student’s definitions of the dynamic markings versus what the real definition is was quite amusing and funny. We made a little game out of it and the kids laughed a lot.
I always try to do a re-evaluation every so often to see if there needs to be changes to my method of teaching. I always have to be able make the changes to keep things fresh and exciting.
Keeping it fresh is something to be jazzed about.
