I love the music part of the Sunday morning church service. I feel it start to lift my spirits from the moment the congregation begins singing.
I listen to all kinds of music during the week just like I’m sure all of you who are reading this do, but when a group of people begin singing in unison to the glory of God, it can make your soul rejoice.
I grew up learning hymns and choruses. My favorite Sunday service was the one on Sunday evening where the congregation would get together just to sing. Those Sunday evening services were pretty full compared to the regular ones. We could shout out the name of the hymn we wanted to sing, the piano player would find it and then the conductor would get us started. Here were some of my favorites from those days:
